Inspired by the Gutemberg’s Textura, this typeface is based on the principle of anamorphosis: moving in space and the angle reveals the letter.

Playfull Type | Ephemeral Lettering and Illustrative Fonts, is the name of a new book by the renowned German book publishers Gestalten. The book is filled with type experiments from visual to spacial creations. It’s definitely a book of our times.
The contributing artists stray away from computer graphics and other digital slickness. And get down and dirty creating typefaces from drift wood, hair, fruit and basicly anything. It is a book of our time that does a good job of capturing the “Zeitgeist” of some of todays cutting-edge graphic and illustrative design. Check it out
Neo2 is a really classy and cutting edge Spanish magazine writing about everything modern and experimental. With a good eye for good typography and graphic design provided by Ipsum Planet. One way you know they are making this magazine for high fashion creatives and designers. Is that in every issue they print a code which gives access to experimental typeface.
So a real collectors item. But the good people of Neo2 have collected all the fonts and you can now download them for free.

Typographic designer Lowman is kicking-off with the first in a series of limited edition typographic T-shirt designs.
“The first design to hit the streets is “Back Once Again”. Already a classic, this one is not only available in the original Black&White combo for Guys and Girls. There is also a very limited summer-color version in Grey&Purple for the guys and Pink&Purple for the girls.
A big plus is that, together with Attune Shirts, we made sure that the t-shirts are made from biological cotton and are emission and sweatshop free. So you get a good looking and great fitting Tee, which can be worn proudly!!
The kick-off took place at the Graphic Design Festival Breda in The Netherlands on 23 May. During this festival, the first t-shirt design that Lowman has taken into production will be exhibited as part of the “Sweatshop” exhibition hosted by the boys form Staynice. At the exhibition there will be over 200 t-shirts by designers like Sagmeister, Toko, ilovedust and many more including, of course, Lowman. The festival runs from 23 May till 29 June – so drop on by.”
The t-shirts will be available in the Lowman web shop.
I’ve always loved the work that Hort made. With the launch of their new website it is noticeable that their inspiration has had a new release of creative design ideas. This poster was made for the Berlin Music Commission to pitch for their new corporate identity. check it out
Scott Polzen is reinventing the old technique of making woodtype. Not really breaking the boundries of type design but still changing the way type is handeld as a product. Giving type it’s physical value back. Check his woodtype project
Typeworkshop.com origines from workshops given by Underware during the last years. Most of the stuff which you see on this website at the moment, derives from these workshops. However, we are looking for more people to cooperate with us on this project, it’s not a project of only Underware. Every idea and proposal is welcome, just send us an email.
