Neo2 is a really classy and cutting edge Spanish magazine writing about everything modern and experimental. With a good eye for good typography and graphic design provided by Ipsum Planet. One way you know they are making this magazine for high fashion creatives and designers. Is that in every issue they print a code which gives access to experimental typeface.

So a real collectors item. But the good people of Neo2 have collected all the fonts and you can now download them for free.

As a fan of typography, the work of Herb Lubalin and Avant Garde magazine I wanted to share what I had learned about the colorful past of the magazine’s namesake font. Many of the people associated in the tale are personal heroes of mine, but if you are a bit of a design geek, I think you’ll find it’s quite an amazing story.

The people over at WeareBuild have recently completed this tasty custom typeface for Faber & Faber.

“Custom typeface design for Faber&Faber, for their new print-on-demand service ‘Faber Finds’. ‘B-HMMD’ is a decorative typeface in two types ‘Normal’ & ‘Alternative’ (coded & kerned by Corey Holms). Decorative borders by Marian Bantjes are uniquely generated based on the books title.”

Be sure not to miss more images from this project here.
