Twistori is this web site and a screen saver for Mac OS X. It grabs data from twitter if it has the prefix “I wish”, “I love”, “I hate”, “I feel”, “I think” and “I believe”. The typographic work is simple but effective. Good use of colour and Helvetica keeping it real. Plus no Flash! It was created by Thomas Fuchs and Amy Hoy

I found this java application that tags text entered into a box or an rss feed and generates a design. Shame the fonts are limited to free ones but the concept is cool.

Hmm, for me it’s already summer. But I guess this is the solution for creative teams, and I just can’t wait to try it out.

Safari 3.1 for Windows and Mac supports the embedding of sfnt fonts (TrueType, OpenType PS, OpenType TT) using the font-face declaration. Technically the fonts are not embedded in the website, but they are simply linked like an image file. One big dilemma though. Due to permissions you cannot legally upload commercial fonts to a public web server, thats why you are limited to only freeware fonts. In my opinion, what’s the difference from embedding types in flash, there must be a solution for this, some way to protect the fonts? I’m so tired of using only web-supported fonts. This quote from John Gruber sums up the dilemma: “The fonts you’re allowed to embed legally aren’t worth using; the fonts that are worth using aren’t embeddable.”.
But I guess this is a step in the right direction. And as always, Apple is the one to take the lead. Am I wrong? :)

This is just brilliant! This has not yet been formally announced, but it’s fully functional and open to all. FontStruct is a free font-building tool from the retailer of digital type, FontShop. FontStruct lets you quickly and easily create fonts constructed out of geometrical shapes, which are arranged in a grid pattern, like tiles or bricks.
